Learn about feedback statuses and what they mean

Understanding Feedback Status

Feedback status helps track where each piece of feedback is in your process. Round Two currently uses a simple status system with three statuses.

Status Types

Open

Open is the default status for newly submitted feedback.

  • Feedback that hasn't been processed yet
  • Recently submitted items
  • Waiting for your attention
1

Review open feedback regularly to stay on top of user input.

2
Update the status as you process feedback.

In Progress

In Progress means you're actively working on the feedback.

  • Development has started
  • You're implementing the feature or improvement
  • It's being worked on right now
1
Update to "In Progress" when work begins.
2
Keep users updated on progress through comments.

Closed

Closed means the feedback has been completed or resolved.

  • The feature is live
  • The improvement is done
  • The issue has been resolved
  • You've decided not to implement it
1

Mark as "Closed" when the work is finished or the decision is made.

2
Add a comment letting users know the outcome.

Status Workflow

A typical workflow might look like:

  1. Open → Feedback is submitted
  2. In Progress → You start working on it
  3. Closed → It's done and available

Or:

  1. Open → Feedback is submitted
  2. Closed → You decide not to implement it (with explanation in comments)

Best Practices

  • Update Regularly: Keep statuses current so users know what's happening
  • Add Comments: Explain status changes, especially when closing feedback
  • Be Transparent: Honest communication builds trust with your users
  • Use Consistently: Stick to the same status meanings across all feedback
